Parlimament stops pay plan for Mnangagwa’s wife

First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa

ZIMBABWE’S parliament has rejected a proposal to pay allowances to President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his two vice presidents Constantino Chiwenga and Kembo Mohadi’s spouses on the basis that it was illegal and unsustainable.
The development comes as Mary Chiwenga — Vice President Chiwenga’s wife — has reportedly won a multi-million dollar contract to manage government’s travel arrangements locally and abroad.
“The spouse of a president shall be entitled to an allowance calculated at fifty per centum of the salary and allowances payable in terms of section two to the president,” reads a proposed amendment to the Presidential Salary and Allowances Act, which was tabled before the august house recently.

This sort of thing must be nipped in the bud. The population (you the taxpayer) should not be expected to pay for politicians wives. Next, it will be the small houses too!

What? Where does Zimbabwe get these kinds of monies to pay spouses surely. Parliament has done well to reject this looting escapade but I doubt that Parliament's voice will be listened to anyway. Instead of the Powers that be ensuring that the lowest paid civil servants are paid decent salaries to try matching that they go hand-in-hand with reaching poverty datum salaries, some Minister suggests paying the President's spouse some dubious allowance, lol. Chinobhururuka chichabhuruka chikamhara pasi surely. Never heard such garbage in my life but only in Zimbabwe. And these people will never have enough - havanyare seiko?
