Sunshine takes invaders to court

PROPERTY firm Sunshine Developments (Sunshine) — a joint venture between the Harare City Council (HCC) and one of Ken Sharpe’s investment vehicles — has rushed to the High Court seeking an order to evict “invaders” from its Mabelreign property.
In an urgent chamber application last week, the company petitioned Lilian Chitiga and Tinashe Dhlamini for spearheading the illegal takeover of its land in the western Harare suburb as well as the High Court sheriff to take action against the squatters.

“This is an application for an interdict in respect of stand 812 Mabelreign township, which has been unlawfully invaded by the respondents (Chitiga and Dhlamini) without the consent… of the applicant (Sunshine), which is the holder of title to the property under… 6315/2008 (and) measuring 4,5509 hectares,” chief projects officer Mandla Ndebele said in a recent affidavit.
