PPC sees growth despite Covid-19

SOUTH African cement producer, PPC says its Zimbabwe subsidiary has seen considerable growth in sales volumes despite disruptions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Despite a significant slump in South Africa, in aggregate, the company said total cement volumes sold showed double-digit growth comparing July 2020 with July 2019. “In the international subsidiaries, the businesses have been less affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Strong sales volumes have continued in August and September 2020, with PPC Barnet (DRC) and PPC Zimbabwe experiencing approximately 25 percent sales volume growth respectively compared to the prior comparable period,” the company said last week in a trading
