ZIMBABWE National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) vice-president and businessman Mike Kamungeremu has been named in a 14-member Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (Zimsec) board.
Kamungeremu is the managing director of Tendo Electronics and Power Engineering and current board chairman of Ramola Security Pvt Ltd.
The youthful businessman is the past ZNCC Harare Branch chairperson and ZNCC National Finance Committee chairperson for two years.
Kamungeremu is a qualified chartered management accountant and a chartered global management accountant with a track record in private sector financial management, strategic management, corporate governance, taxation, turnaround strategies and administration.
He holds a Bachelor of Accountancy Honours Degree from the University of Zimbabwe, a diploma in Financial Management (ACCA-UK), a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (UZ) and memberships of the Institute of Risk Management South Africa, and the Institute of Directors of Zimbabwe.
Tendo Electronics and Power Engineering is a total solutions provider that caters for all sectors of the economy, supplying, installing, servicing, and maintaining UPS, standby generators, inverters, CCTV and access control, fire suppression, renewable energy equipment, air conditioning and other power network critical physical infrastructure (integrated racks, environment monitoring, cooling, power, cabling for data centres) equipment, including providing comprehensive infrastructure and energy management solutions.
The Zimsec board which was announced by Primary and Secondary Education minister Cain Mathema in Bulawayo on Wednesday last week will run the country’s public examination until 2024.
Bindura University of Science Education vice- chancellor Professor Eddie Mwenje who was the past Zimsec board chairman retained his post and is deputised by lawyer Milidzani Faith Masiye-Moyo.
Other board members include Zimbabwe Teachers’ Association president Richard Gundane, educationist (specialist in Learners with Disabilities) Sindile Mhlanga, University of Zimbabwe lecturer Eventhough Ndlovu, Chinhoyi University of Technology vice-chancellor David Jambwa Simbi, Educationist and administrator John Dewah, lawyer Wadzanayi Chirongoma, accountant Kind Kapfudza, retired National University of Science and Technology Registrar Fidelis Mhlanga, educationists Lazarus Nembaware, Suzzane Joscelyne and Rogers Sisimayi.

Zimsec is a parastatal under the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education formed by an Act of Parliament in 1996, mandated to administer public examinations at Grade Seven, Ordinary Level, and Advanced Level.
