‘Miners pursue international financiers’

THE Chamber of Mines Zimbabwe (CoMZ) hosts its annual mining conference soon and says the sector expects a rebound in the second half of the year on the back of expected improvements in the Covid-19 situation, improved availability of electricity and foreign currency. CoMZ is seeking to revive engagement with international financiers through joint roadshows with the government. The Financial Gazette Staff Writer, Farai Mabeza (FM), spoke to the chamber’s chief executive, Isaac Kwesu (IK), on these and other issues in the mining sector. Below are excerpts from the interview.
