Agriculture players bare teeth at side marketing

 

LEADING players in the tobacco industry have implored the government to improve payment modalities for farmers to curb side marketing.
While authorities have put in place a raft of measures to curb the practice, some of the produce is still finding its way onto the parallel market — with the Tobacco Industry Marketing Board (TIMB) saying at least 64 farmers have been arrested this season for side marketing.
