ZIMBABWE’S trade deficit with its neighbour and biggest trading partner, South Africa (SA), shrunk by 58 percent to US$50 million in April, compared to March.
Latest data shows that exports to SA increased by 26 percent to US$176 million during the month compared to March. This was in spite of a four percent decline in overall exports to US$445 million.
It comes as trade between the two countries has continued to improve despite restricted movement of people between the two countries.
Shipments across the Limpopo had slumped to a record low in April last year, when exports from Zimbabwe amounted to US$7 million from a peak of US$424 million recorded in Novembe
