Hunt for Zimra boss hots up

ZIMBABWE Revenue Authority (Zimra) says it has submitted the list of shortlisted candidates vying for the tax collector’s top post to the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC) for security vetting.
Zimra vice board chairperson Josephine Matambo told Parliament’s portfolio committee on Budget, Finance and Economic Development this week that the tax collector intends to fill the post before the deadline of July 31 this year.

In terms of the Section 74 of the Public Entities Corporate Governance Act (Chapter 10.31) chief executive positions in government entities must be filled within six months.
The former Zimra boss, Faith Mazani, resigned on February 1 this year. Rameck Masaire is the acting Zimra chief executive.
