New insurance law seeks to protect clients

INSURANCE and pension companies face closure if they fall foul of a new industry framework meant to protect customers and end unfair practices.
According to the industry regulator, the Insurance and Pensions Commission (Ipec), firms which receive more than 50 valid complaints from customers would be shut down under the Treating Customers Fairly Framework, which took effect on June 1.
