‘Our goal is to light up the country’

ZIMBABWE put forward a National Renewable Energy Policy in 2019, with the aim to have 16.5 percent of the total generation capacity from renewable sources by 2025. A number of Independent Power Producers (IPP) have taken a keen interest in the sector including SolGas Energy, which was started by young entrepreneurs. This week The Financial Gazette’s Deputy News Editor Emmerson Njanjamangezi (EN) sat down with SolGas Energy chief finance officer Tafadzwa Mundicha (TM), pictured, to get an update on their solar project at Cross Mabale in Hwange.
