Insurers seek offshore hedge

ZIMBABWE’S major investment constituency, the insurance sector, wants regulatory permission to invest offshore to mitigate risks amid a volatile inflation situation on the domestic scene.
The government has recently given pension funds permission to invest up to 15 percent of their assets offshore, but insurers are still barred from investing abroad.
