AGRICULTURE minister Anxious Masuka says a US$25 million project funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) in Zimbabwe will change the agriculture seed and commodity markets.
The venture has been dubbed the Markets and Seeds Access Project (MASAP). According to the SDC, it will increase adoption and utilisation of improved varieties of small grains by strengthening the seed and commodity value chains in Zimbabwe.
The first phase of the project will run for four years from December 2021 to November 2025.
“I am told this US$25 million project, that will work closely with the private sector, will invest in pro-poor innovative business models that aggregate demand and supply and drive down transaction costs and this progress is expected to change the agricultural seed and commodity markets effectively and sustainably,” Masuka said at the launch of the p
