Private sector lifts wheat production

AGRICULTURE permanent secretary John Basera says private sector contractors account for at least 33 percent of total wheat production this year.
Basera said these figures were a result of a deliberate strategy by the government to crowd in the private sector into agriculture production under both the contract farming framework and the joint venture system.
