Call for infrastructure development policies

PLAYERS in the construction industry in Zimbabwe say the government should implement policies that encourage the collaboration of foreign and local companies on infrastructure projects.
This comes as there has been a construction boom across the entire construction value chain, with countless economic spillover effects on other areas of the economy.

“Government must prioritise locals for infrastructure development and put in place policies that encourage foreign companies to partner with local professionals and contractors on all local projects,” Emmanuel Chimedza, the Construction Industry Federation of Zimbabwe (Cifoz) president told a business conference last week.
