Promote foreign remittance inflows — Zes urges government

THE Zimbabwe Economics Society (Zes) says the government should put in place measures that promote foreign remittance inflows.
Diaspora cash remittances are a vital source of foreign currency liquidity for the country’s and an important source of household incomes.
“It is quite evident that remittances are playing an important role in reducing the liquidity constraints faced by Zimbabwean households,” Zes said in its latest journal titled: Poverty Analysis in Zimbabwe.

“It is also evident that the impact of international remittances is larger than that of domestic remittances. There is therefore, a need for the government to encourage the inflows of international remittances.”
