Millers lobby for more government support

ONE of Harare’s notable milling companies, Classic Super Foods (CSF), has called on the government to provide more support to smaller indigenous millers.
Speaking on the sidelines of a tour of CSF organised by the Entrepreneurs Network of Zimbabwe in Harare recently, the company’s chief executive, Alvin Mparutsa, said the smaller players needed support to compete with more established millers and help secure the country’s food security.
“We have had government support; that is why we have survived for 20 years and we wish to lobby for more government support, especially for millers like us who are indigenous. We would want more allocations as opposed to other millers, that can import; they have a working capital base, we do not,” Mparutsa said.
