Tourism upbeat after peaceful vote

THE tourism industry is optimistic that the peaceful conclusion of Zimbabwe’s general election will spur its recovery from the devastating impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic.

It comes as captains of commerce and industry have said the general tranquility of last week’s plebiscite augured well for the country, as peace and economic stability were closely linked.
Hospitality Association of Zimbabwe (HAZ) president, Farai Chimba told The Financial Gazette this week that the industry was optimistic of a sustained upswing. The groundwork that had been set in the post-Covid-19 and elections is continuing to gain traction, as evidenced by the strong international arrivals during the election period.
