SIBANYE-Stillwater (Sibanye) says platinum, palladium, rhodium and gold 4E PGM production from its local unit, Mimosa Mining Company (Mimosa), was one percent higher than prior period at 29 060 ounces, during the quarter ended September 30, 2023.
The group said all-in sustaining cost increased by 10 percent year-on-year to US$1,359/4E ounce due to inflationary pressures being experienced in Zimbabwe, in particular electricity costs, which rose for exporters by 40 percent in October 2022, the first increase since 2014.
Sibanye said sustaining capital remained elevated at US$14 million during the period primarily associated with the ongoing construction of the new tailings storage facility, which is due to be commissioned between December 2023 and March 2024.
