Simbisa’s cooking oil consumption drops

SIMBISA Brands (Simbisa)’s cooking oil consumption declined to 2,61 million litres during the year ended June 30, 2023, compared to 2,86 million litres in the comparable period.

Meats, starches and oils are among the ingredients that the regional fast-food restaurant operator uses in its daily operations.
The Victoria Falls Stock Exchange-listed group’s oil usage went up by 5,26 percent to 259 200 litres from 246 240 litres in FY 2022.
“Managing the ingredients is essential in ensuring efficiency in our operations,” the company said in its 2023 annual report.
From procurement to sales, the company’s diverse operating activities produce a variety of waste products.
