Government pushes for private sector hand in aviation

THE government says it remains committed to ensuring private sector participation in aviation infrastructure development.
This comes after the commissioning of the US$153 million Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport expansion programme earlier this year.
“The (Transport) ministry is committed to providing an enabling environment for private sector participation in the development of our infrastructure.
“This is borne out of the realisation that a robust airport infrastructure is pivotal to the economic growth of our country and requires the participation of all citizens,” Transport minister, Felix Mhona, said as he commissioned new Aviation Ground Services (AGS) passenger handling equipment in Harare this week.
