STARAFRICA Corporation (Starafrica) says 70 percent of its revenue over the past five months was in US dollars.
This comes as more companies have been reporting an increase in US dollar revenue amid persistent dollarisation pressures in the economy, which have been driven by a lack of confidence in the local unit.
“So, with the Zim dollar, there are a couple of overheads that we still incur, mainly our bills for electricity, water, council, waste removal, forecall, and other raw materials, so that money is for that,” finance director Formai Myambuki told The Financial Gazette at the company’s annual general meeting.
