Emilia Chisango leaves Cassava Smartech

CASSAVA Smartech Zimbabwe (Cassava), finance director and executive board member, Emilia Chisango is leaving the fintech giant after a two-year tenure.
Chisango, a former president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe (ICAZ) was the first female to hold that office in its 103-year history. To date only two other women — Gloria Zvaravanhu and Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency chief finance officer Duduzile Shinya have led the accountants’ body.

In a statement announcing her departure Cassava said, “As we celebrate women in March, Cassava Smartech Zimbabwe would also like to thank Emilia for the resolute support, dedication and contribution towards women empowerment initiatives and mentorship for women in leadership”
