A PERENNIAL water crisis in the country has increased the cost of industrial production, leaving most companies wobbling.
This comes as most of Zimbabwe’s urban areas are facing persistent water woes in recent years, due to a combination of recurring droughts, dilapidated infrastructure and poor planning on the part of local authorities.

The councils say ratepayers, the government and residents, were not paying, leaving the authorities cash-strapped. The situation has left the manufacturing sector, in particular, with serious operational challenges.
