DAIRY production offers the best investment opportunities in the livestock sector, as there is still unmet demand in both the local and export markets, a new study has shown.
According to the Agriculture Sector Survey for 2021-2022, which was done by Africa Economic Development Strategies (AEDS) in partnership with The Financial Gazette and CBZ Bank, there are numerous opportunities in the livestock sector, ranging from the actual rearing of animals to production of stock feeds and provision of veterinary services.
“For the cattle herd to cater for beef and milk needs is not enough to meet the demands of local and export markets.
“Investment opportunities in the livestock sector are reflected in the shortages which are apparent in the dairy sector,” the survey report said.
