THE Securities and Exchange Commission of Zimbabwe (SecZim) chief executive officer, Anymore Taruvinga, says at least 19 different players have been registered to trade on the capital markets in the first nine months of this year amid surging interest from prospective participants.
In an interview on the sidelines of the CBZ Bank Trustee Services launch last week, Taruvinga said of the 19 players registered on the capital market, five of them were Collective Investment Schemes (CIS).

Trustee Services means a legal arrangement through which the legal title to securities is held or securities are administered for the benefit of third parties in financial transactions including collective investment schemes, securitisation, or any other fiduciary relationship in securities markets.
“Between January and October this year, we have registered five CIS and that’s quite a big size. This is about a quarter of the 19 players registered so far. So, in terms of the total number of CIS now, we have 65 funds.
