THE government says it is committed to private-sector-led sustainable economic development and expects the sector to supplement its efforts by taking advantage of opportunities, such as collaboration with state institutions to produce globally competitive brands.
Finance deputy minister Clemence Chiduwa last week told delegates at a conference hosted by the Zimbabwe Institute of Strategic Thinking (ZIST) in Kariba that agriculture was a prime example of a sector that could see more private-sector participation.
“The sustainable development of this country, guided by Vision 2030, is supposed to be private sector-led. I know quite a number of people would say it appears that the private sector talk is just some talk show.
