TRADE promotion body ZimTrade says interest in horticulture production is rising as local companies that participated at the recent Fruit Logistica Expo in Germany are working on deals that could be worth up to US$21 million.
In a recent note, ZimTrade tipped horticultural exports from Zimbabwe to grow this year, owing to heightened interest among producers to venture into the export business as well as rising interest from buyers to source from local producers.
“Zimbabwe used to have the most sought-after produce on the African continent in years gone by and that same interest was seen and revived at this year’s Fruit Logistica Expo, the largest fresh fruits and vegetables fair in the world.
