ZIMBABWE’S largest tea producer, Tanganda Tea Company (Tanganda), says it has invested US$8 million in solar projects and plans to further develop three solar mini plants for a cumulative total of US$4 million over the next three years.
This comes as Zimbabwe is currently experiencing debilitating rolling blackouts, which have negatively affected the productive sectors of the economy.
In a recent interview, Tanganda’s chief executive, Timothy Fennell, told The Financial Gazette that solar power has become an absolute necessity for local companies.
