Property sector dreads de-dollarisation

PLAYERS in the property sector have called for the continued use of the US dollar post-2025, saying ditching the greenback so soon could destabilise the economy.
This comes as President Emmerson Mnangagwa has said he aims for a return to a Zimdollar mono-currency system by the end of his current term, while legislation provides for the multicurrency regime to remain until at least 2025.
West Property chief executive, Kenneth Sharpe, said having the domestic unit as the sole currency would be ideal, but there was no need to rush the transition.
